It is a pleasure to add my personal congratulations, feelings and best wishes to Dr. Pierre Morand-Fehr in recognition of his retirement to the many others.
I first personally became acquainted with Pierre when we gathered as a small group and worked together to form the International Goat Association during the Third International Conference on Goat at Tucson, Arizona, USA in 1982. He accepted the call to leadership, serving first on the board of directors and some years later as President and has continued to serve to the present and will surely continue in the future. His reputation as a scientist and his personal association and friendship, especially with others working with goats throughout the world, along with his leadership has contributed much to the initial and continued success of IGA.
