As the end of the year is fast approaching, it is time to inform you about the activities of our organization for 2014.
The IGA European Regional Conference in Hungary and Romania regarding goats in Central and Eastern Europe was the most important event. This conference was a great success. The organization was very efficient, the discussions were of a high scientific level and the technical tours were very interesting.
Another important accomplishment this year was to update our Regional Directors and Country Representatives. This was done by some Board members and the Executive Director. Currently, we have 10 new Regional Directors and 40 new Country Representatives. From my point of view, this is a significant contribution to the promotion of IGA.
I also would like to remark the work achieved by the Training Centers and Development Projects Committee. Its members have developed and finished an important project together with IFAD. The final report will be published very soon on our website.
The IGA website and blog has been a very dynamic and useful tool in connecting members, paying memberships, learning about upcoming conferences and goat related events, and generally being able to access a wide variety of goat information. We anticipate even more wonderful things from our website in 2015. In addition, the quarterly IGA Newsletters are very informative and I would like to thank all the contributors, especially our Newsletter Committee.
I think that 2014 has been a very productive year. The involvement of so many members in our organization made this year a magnificent year. Our goals for 2015 are to increase the involvement of IGA members toward the contribution, promotion and growth of our organization.
I wish you Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
