Lu Wu Chien Yun Young Scientist Award
DONOR: Drs. Christopher and Hsin Lu
NATURE OF AWARD: $1,000 and a plaque with presentation at the International Conference on Goats held by the International Goat Association.
PURPOSE: To recognize outstanding research by young goat production scientists during the first ten (10) years of their professional career.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NOMINATION:
1. Nominee must have demonstrated outstanding research in dairy, meat or fiber goat production areas within five (5) calendar years immediately prior to year of award.
2. Nominee must have original research work published.
3. Nominee must be a current member of the International Goat Association.
4. Nominee must be age 39 or younger in the calendar year prior to the year of award and must have completed his/her Ph.D. no earlier than 10 calendar years prior to the year of the award (i.e., those receiving his/her Ph.D. during the calendar year of 2015 and are age 39 or younger during the calendar year 2025 are eligible to receive the 2026 award)
5. The Award is conferred with a standard set by and is at the discretion of the Award Selection Committee. In the absence of qualified candidates, the award will be conferred at the future International Conference on Goats.
6. The award recipient is required to accept the award in person during the International Conference on Goats.
SUPPORTING INFORMATION ON NOMINEE
The principal nominator or self nominated shall electronically supply the chairperson of the Award Selection Committee ( [email protected] )
• An updated career vitae.
• A short summary statement (no more than five pages) documenting accomplishments and outlining major contributions to the goat industry upon which the nomination is based.
