Between September 19-21, 2018 the LXXXIII scientific meeting of Polish Society of Animal Production entitled “Challenges of animal husbandry in sustainable agriculture conditions” took place in Lublin (south-eastern Poland). The main organizer of the conference was the University of Life Science in Lublin, Faculty of Biology, Animal Sciences and Bioeconomy. There was also a meeting of the section goat and sheep rearing and breeding during the conference. Twenty-five people took part in this meeting.
Altogether, 33 reports were delivered, including six on goats. Two of them were presented by colleagues from Sumy National Agrarian University, Biological Technological Faculty in Sumy, Ukraine. The main subject of these lectures were: the somatic cell count in goat milk in different year seasons, physicochemical composition, and technological properties of goat milk as a material for soft cheese production.

Regarding sheep breeding, the main subject of the lectures was lamb meat production and the quality of lamb meat, sheep reproduction issue, factors influencing the immune system of lamb and ewes, and sheep behavior.
